2024 Series Dates
Season 24 of the Australian Prototype Series will boast a 4 round series featuring events at Australia’s best circuits, starting at Sydney Motorsport Park in NSW and then to The Bend in SA, then Phillip Island in Vic with the penultimate round at The Bend’s full length GT Circuit as the season finale.
Hosted by professional category and media management at all rounds, 2024 will see subtle improvements to the series including reduced cost entry fee’s, new and improved (simpler) BOP system (only for applicable cars) and open tyre rule just to name a few.
Series Director, Matt Baragwanath is looking forward to another successful year promoting such a unique series. “Season 24 will see us travel nationally with four events across three states at some of Australia’s best circuits. The series is already renowned for its relaxed, inclusive atmosphere and this will continue in 2024 at each round. We provide a dance floor for many drivers of varying budgets and many different manufacturers within our series. The highlight of the season will definitely be our finale on The Bend’s GT circuit, not many drivers have ever competed on this circuit and we are putting together something very special by way of an enduro style event, which is something very unique!”
The series is open to vehicles from the following categories*:
- FIA Group CN
- Group 2C Supersports
- Group 6SR Sports Racer
- Group 2A Sports Cars Open & Closed
- Invited vehicles similar in principle to these categories
*Refer to MA Sporting Regs for details. The Series doesn’t have control tyre rules, so the vehicles can run on tyres that best suit them.
These vehicles are divided into three classes, each chasing a series winner’s trophy:
- AP1 (Prototype)
- AP2 (Supersport)
- SR3 Pro (Radical)
If you’ve got a vehicle sitting in your garage that fits with any of the above-mentioned categories, talk to the APS team about joining the series in 2024. We will communicate Series Entry details and costs as soon as possible.
